Mertect 340 - Sudden Death Syndrome

Thiabendazole or TBZ is the active ingredient and is the most active compound available against the Fusarium species. It is systemic and will travel to the roots and crown of the seedling plant and is effective on many of the Fusarium species. The big yield loss from SDS is from the damage to the root system. TBZ is commonly used for sterilizing wheat seed, killing the Fusarium head scab organism on the seed coat. The wheat germ can increase 50% on infected seed to greater than 90% after application of TBZ.
